E-Man and Nihilist-Man team up for ACTOR!!!
« on: May 04, 2006, 11:03:13 AM »
Press Release:

A Commitment To Our Roots (A.C.T.O.R.), a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for comic book creators in need, has announced that they will be producing a trade paperback comic with the proceeds benefiting A.C.T.O.R.

Jim McLauchlin, president of A.C.T.O.R., announced that the benefit book would feature stories and pin ups donated by the industryís top talent. The book is scheduled to run 150 pages, with a full color cover and black & white interior. McLauchlin also stated that while the book is in the early stages, it will premiere at the Baltimore Comic Convention in September.

The A.C.T.O.R trade paperback comic will feature "The Final Ka-Boom!?!" by Joe Staton, Al Nickerson and Nick Cuti. "The Final Ka-Boom!?!" details the first team-up with Staton and Cutiís E-Man with Nickersonís Nihilist-Man. The story also features John Gallagherís Buzzboy.

"For decades, Earthís heroes have successfully protected our planet from destruction. Today, our luck may have just run out." E-Man, Nova Kane, Nihilist-Man, and Buzzboy valiantly combat the most powerful, the most feared, evil force in the cosmos.

During a press conference, Al Nickerson stated, "In "The Final Ka-Boom!?!", I wanted to have a bunch of heroes defending Earth in itís last stand against a super-powerful cosmic villain. Since John Gallagher is a friend if mine, and that heís helping out with the A.C.T.O.R. benefit book, I thought it would be neat to have his character, Buzzboy, make an appearance. It was also wonderful fun working with the great Joe Staton and talented Nick Cuti on this story!"

Newsarama has posted Stan Lee's story from Actor Comics Presents Vol 1 TPB.

Newsarama also posted the table of contents for the book, and it appears that the E-Man and Nihilist-Man story is the third story in the benefit book. Very cool.  8)

Say, Al, has this hit stores yet? I scripted the Hulk tale but haven't read it in ages and I'm anxious to see it.

It looks like the book comes out this Wednesday (September 20th). I am so looking forward to this. I didn't go to Baltimore. So, I haven't seen the book, yet.

Me, too. :D

Having the Hulk and Spider-Man stories in the benefit book will certainly generate more interest. I'm looking forward to reading your Hulk. :)
